Celebrating our Hero's
25 May by Matthew Vanderwel
Dear CHANT Families,
As we gather together this Memorial Day weekend, the CHANT Board would like to pause and reflect on the incredible blessings that God has poured out upon our nation and the great sacrifices that have made those blessings possible.
Memorial Day is more than the beginning of summer or a long weekend with family and friends. It is a sacred time of remembrance. We honor the brave men and women who gave their lives so that our nation could remain free. Their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering love for others remind us that freedom has never been free.
We also remember the countless military families who have carried heavy burdens through the generations β families who endured long deployments, empty seats at dinner tables, anxious prayers, and heartbreaking loss. So many American families have given deeply so that future generations could live in liberty, worship freely, pursue opportunity, and raise their children in peace.
As believers, we recognize that our freedoms and blessings ultimately come from God. Scripture reminds us that βBlessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.β We are grateful to live in a country where we can openly gather, compete, worship, build community, and invest in the lives of young athletes. These are gifts we should never take for granted.
At CHANT, we strive to teach our athletes not only how to compete, but also how to honor sacrifice, respect those who came before them, and live lives marked by gratitude, character, and faith. We pray that our young men and women grow into leaders who understand the cost of freedom and the responsibility that comes with it.
This Memorial Day, may we all take time to pray for the families of the fallen, honor those who gave everything for our nation, and thank God for His continued mercy and blessing upon America.
From our CHANT family to yours, we wish you a safe, meaningful, and blessed Memorial Day.
With gratitude,
The CHANT Board
